(In)sidenotes solo exhibition by Taus Makhacheva in Uppsala Art Museum

(In) sidenotes is the first major solo exhibition of Taus Makhacheva in Sweden. Using video as her primary means of expression Taus returns to the native Dagestan. The dazzling beauty Caucasian mountain scenery becomes a projection surface for a story about the clan society’s traditions, a Russian and Soviet colonialism and the human relationship to nature.
