narrative projects is pleased to announce a limited edition by Taus Makhacheva produced by Shaltai Editions, Moscow and will be on view at the gallery during and after Frieze week.

Sketches from Nature are the underlining lines, footnotes and exclamation marks, which readers use to make a book their own. These are notes about nature, about the environment and about the body of an artist, as well as our collective body. This project started with the question about how one can free his/her body from the desire to consume and reflects on contemporary practices of fasting. The artist references the Cookbook for the Hungry, 1911, by Natalia Borisovna Nordman and the detoxification methods practiced at Verba Mayr centre in Moscow.
